FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Nicole Carew scored 19 points and Kaitlyn Carlson added 15 as Fargo Shanley rallied from a halftime deficit to beat Minot 54-41 in a first-round game at the North Dakota girls Class A basketball tournament on Thursday.
Carew made 7 of 11 shots from the field and 5-for-7 from the line for the Deacons (20-3), who trailed 23-22 at the half.
Shanley shot just 29 percent for the game, but it made 15 of 23 free throws and had five 3-pointers. Minot shot 41 percent, but was just 8-for-12 at the line and had one 3-pointer.
Holly Johnson had 14 points and 16 rebounds for the Majettes (14-9).
