FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Grand Forks Central used some hot shooting to post a 72-67 victory over Bismarck in the first round of the North Dakota girls Class A basketball tournament on Thursday.
The Knights shot 51 percent from the field and built a nine-point halftime lead.
Caitlin Farroh led the way for GFC (20-3), scoring 22 points and grabbing 16 rebounds. Courtney Hammer hit four of the Knights' eight 3-pointers on her way to a 15-point night. Rebecca Fee finished with 14 points.
Anna Hruby led the Demons (15-8) with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Rylee Meier finished with 13 points and Ally Sweep 10 for Bismarck, which shot 38 percent from the field.
