ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — St. Thomas Academy senior Zach Schroeder scored twice and goaltender David Zevnik made 12 saves as top seed St. Thomas Academy beat Thief River Falls 5-0 in Friday's second semifinal of the Class 1A boys state hockey tournament at the Xcel Energy Center.
Andrew Commers, Alex Johnson and Eric Schurhamer also scored for the Cadets (24-6-0), who will try for their third state championship and first since 2008. St. Thomas Academy will face second seed Hermantown in Saturday's title game.
Jon Narverud made 24 saves in goal for Thief River Falls (20-9-1).
