UND's Frattin is Hobey Baker Award Finalist

UND scoring leader Matt Frattin is a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, which goes to the top player in college hockey. Frattin leads the nation with 33 goals.

UND scoring leader and WCHA player of the year Matt Frattin is a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, which goes to the top player in college hockey.

Frattin leads the nation with 33 goals. Frattin ranks fourth nationally with 54 points in 39 games.

The senior forward from Edmonton was the WCHA regular season scoring champion with 40 points in 28 league games.

Celebrating its 30th Anniversary, the trophy is given to the NCAA Division I Player of the Year. The winner will be announced April 8 during the NCAA Frozen Four in St. Paul.

The other finalists (alphabetical order):

-Cam Atkinson, a junior forward from Boston College.

-Carter Camper, a senior forward from Miami.

-Andy Miele, a senior forward from Miami.

-Jack Connolly, a junior forward from Minnesota-Duluth.

-Gustav Nyqvist, a junior forward from Maine.

-Chase Polacek, a senior forward from Rensselaer.

-Justin Schultz, a sophomore defenseman from Wisconsin.

-Paul Thompson, a senior forward from New Hampshire.

-Paul Zanette, a senior forward from Niagara.

The winner will be announced April 8 at the NCAA Frozen Four in St. Paul.

The finalists were selected by voting from all 58 Division I coaches and by online fan voting. A 23-member selection committee and additional fan balloting will determine the winner.
