A woman in Grand Forks is not only losing weight but building up her self esteem.
She is one of 80 people hitting the gym during the Greatest Loser Competition.
Cardio, Weights and a little extra time in the gym is helping 24-year-old Abby Chisholm shape up.
"You can't eat a bunch of cake and then not work out because it's not gonna get you anywhere." Chisholm said.
Chisholm has had a gym membership for a little over a year, but didn't work out on a regular basis...until 6 weeks ago.
"I didn't ever think I could actually lose the weight I wanted to and now that I can see the results it's actually getting easier."
The reason it's getting easier, Chisholm is a part of the Greatest Loser Competition at Center Court Fitness. There are 8 teams of 10 people competing to lose the most weight.
"Better to work out with a personal trainer, I've gotten different ideas of different workouts to do and lifting weights, I guess I didn't know how to lift weights before." Chisholm said.
Teams train 5 days a week for almost an hour a day on machines like this to hopefully win the competition.
"When I'm not with them I give them different cardio workouts to do and when they're with me we do a lot of interval training and sprints and cycling class." fitness trainer Megan Pierce said.
So far Chisholm has lost 15 pounds and with two weeks left to go she's hoping to lose even more.
"I just didn't ever have the confidence in myself that I could actually do it and get it done and now that I'm doing it I can see that anyone can do it." Chisholm said.
The winner of the competition gets a free gym membership.
