GF City Council May Change Liquor License Law

Proposed Olive Garden within 300 foot limit
The Grand Forks City Council might change a liquor license law in support of an Olive Garden.

The Grand Forks City Council might change a liquor license law in support of an Olive Garden.

The current law requires liquor license applicants to get permission from existing licensed businesses if they open within 300 feet.

The site being looked at for a Grand Forks Olive Garden is near Grizzly's, which is another chain competitor.

City Attorney Howard Swanson says the law is focused on bars more so than restaurants.

The council will have a final vote at their next meeting to officially change the law.
