The state Department of Transportation has reopened Interstate 94 from Bismarck to Jamestown and Interstate 29 from Fargo to Grand Forks.

JAMESTOWN, N.D. - The state Department of Transportation has reopened Interstate 94 from Bismarck to Jamestown and Interstate 29 from Fargo to Grand Forks.

A no travel advisory has been lifted in the Fargo, Valley City, Jamestown and surrounding areas, but a travel alert remains in effect across the state due to areas of continuous compacted snow, ice and rough conditions on roadways.

"All interstate and state highways are now open but motorists are advised that due to freezing rain and heavy snowfall that fell during the storm, areas of continuous compacted snow, ice and rough conditions may be encountered on the roadways along with heavy snow drifts," the NDDOT stated in a news release at 1 p.m.
