Crookston may relax rules regarding the use of ATV's and snowmobiles in town.
The Public Safety Committee in Crookston made a recommendation to the City Council to change the city ordinance to allow alternative vehicles to operate within limits.
It would allow residents to ride to the trails without having to trailer their alternative vehicles.
"The ordinance that we have really pertains to the city streets. People who operate snowmobiles and ATV's should still be aware of what the state and county might have as well," says Crookston city administrator Aaron Parish
The earliest the change could pass will be at an April council meeting. The changes would take place 30 days after final approval.
