Perham Beats Virginia 57-40 for First-ever State Tourney Game Win

There were no tournament jitters with the Perham basketball team in its first ever appearance as it used a 57-40 win over Virginia on Wednesday in the opening round of the Class 2A Minnesota State Boys Basketball Tournament.

There were no tournament jitters with the Perham basketball team in its first ever appearance as it used a 57-40 win over Virginia on Wednesday in the opening round of the Class 2A Minnesota State Boys Basketball Tournament.

Perham's barrage was set up by a first-half that saw it shoot 62.5 percent from the floor and a remarkable 54.5 percent from beyond the arc.

Jordan Cresap led Perham with 13 points in the first half.

Perham advances to the semifinal round on Friday where it will face Waterville-Elysian-Morristown or Zimmerman at the Target Center.
