A Grand Forks teenager had a party Friday night to thank everyone who has helped her through a tough time. 16-year-old Brittany Dvorak was diagnosed with leukemia three years ago.

It was a night of celebration for Brittany after years of treatment. Now it's time to some of the more fun things that she's missed.

Brittany was diagnosed with a form of leukemia when she was 13. Chemotherapy treatments over the past three years have made her weak and not able to do all the things she's wanted to.

After finishing up her treatments last month and beating cancer, she is ready to say thanks.

"It hasn't really sunk in, but I think it'll start to sink in once people start talking about it or ask about it. But it's a big accomplishment for anyone to go over and I'm glad that I was able to do it," Dvorak said.

The Dvorak family will go on a Caribbean cruise next month thanks to the Make-A-Wish foundation. Twice before she had to cancel her Make-A-Wish trip because she was too sick.
