MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A judge has set bail at $300,000 for the Blaine man accused of providing an illegal drug that killed one man and caused 10 others to overdose.
Timothy R. Lamere is charged with felony third-degree murder in the death of 19-year-old Trevor Robinson.
The Minneapolis Star Tribune says Lamere made his first court appearance Friday. The 21-year-old answered the judge's questions calmly, but as he was being led back to jail he began sobbing.
Public defender Jacob Fischmann sought bail of $75,000, saying his client isn't a violent person.
Lamere was already on probation for a separate drug-possession case. Fischmann says Lamere has a history of drug use and he wants treatment.
Court documents say Robinson died of cardiac arrest attributed to drug toxicity.
