GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — The University of North Dakota football team has 35 letterwinners returning as it begins spring drills.
The 15 sessions starting Monday afternoon culminate with the annual Green-White Game on April 16 in the Alerus Center.
The Fighting Sioux are looking to improve upon last seasons' 3-8 record. The upcoming fall season will be the last for UND in the Great West Conference, as the school moves into the Big West starting with the 2012 season.
Head coach Chris Mussman says the team has veterans back "pretty much across the board," but spring practice will be important for developing younger players. Eighty-one players will suit up for spring drills.
