UND-NDSU Baseball Series Moved to Grand Forks

With unplayable field conditions in the Fargo area, University of North Dakota baseball coach Jeff Dodson announced on Tuesday that all four games of this weekend’s baseball series between the Fighting Sioux and North Dakota State will now be played entirely at Kraft Field.

With unplayable field conditions in the Fargo area, University of North Dakota baseball coach Jeff Dodson announced on Tuesday that all four games of this weekend’s baseball series between the Fighting Sioux and North Dakota State will now be played entirely at Kraft Field.

“With all the snow the Fargo area received from this last storm, we decided to try and play all four games at Kraft Field,” Dodson said. “It all depends on the field conditions this weekend, but the plan is to still get these games in as scheduled.”

The teams were originally scheduled to play single games in Grand Forks on Friday at 1 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. with a doubleheader slated in between at Newman Field in Fargo on Saturday.

The twinbill moving to the renovated home of the Fighting Sioux (1-14) was the only adjustment made to the original plan. The first pitch of Saturday’s first game is set for 1 p.m.

An artificial infield was installed at Kraft Field last fall and Friday’s opener with the Bison (2-16) will be the first game played on the new surface.
