A Grand Forks woman who received national attention for being arrested after breastfeeding her baby while drunk is back in court for violating her probation ten times and not completing treatment.
28-year-old Stacey Anvarinia was sentenced for child neglect in 2009.
Police were called to her apartment for a domestic dispute. When Anvarinia opened the door, she was holding her six-week-old daughter upside down by one leg.
She was also shaking the baby, too drunk to support the infant's head, and breastfed the baby three different times while police were present.
Just hours after she was sentenced on that charge, she was charged with criminal mischief and preventing arrest for slashing a tire on a pickup.
Anvarinia was not supposed to drink alcohol or use drugs, but she has been caught by authorities as many as ten times in less than a year.
Anvarinia's first run-in with the law made national news and a WDAZ story about it even appeared on the TV show "The Doctors." It sparked a debate about mothers' rights and privacy.
