BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - The North Dakota Legislature will be entering its home stretch as early as Friday.

The last stage of the Legislature is its conference committees. The committees work out details of bills when the House and Senate can't agree on the final language.

Each committee has three Senate and three House members. When they're done working on individual bills, members of the full House and Senate decide whether to approve the final product.

Senate Republican majority leader Bob Stenehjem of Bismrack says conference committee meetings may start as early as Friday.

House Republican majority leader Al Carlson of Fargo says it's part of the process of wrapping up the session. He hopes to finish by Good Friday, April 22.
