The National Weather Service says a recent warmer weather pattern has considerably melted snow across much of the Red River basin. That has caused the Service to issue high water notices for a few area rivers.

A high water notice is issued when river levels are high, but are expected to remain below flood stage for the forecast period.

For the Red River at Pembina, a high water notice has been issued. NWS says the river there is forecast to reach a high water stage of 41.7 ft. by Friday, April 8th. That is just a few inches below flood stage.

Other rivers with high water notice: Snake River Warren, Alvarado, the Maple River at Mapleton and the Park River at Grafton.
