Fire heavily damaged a rural Grand Forks family's home Saturday. About 25 firefighters from Thompson and Manvel responded to the fire at 1155 South 83rd Street at around 7:15 a.m.

No one was injured in the blaze.

Firefighters say the fire started in a basement bathroom but quickly spread to the roof of the home.

Flames spread through the walls to the ceiling.

Firefighters were on the scene for more than three hours.

"Structurally, it was just a big major fire because it crawled up and there was so much damage we had to do by tearing it apart to get at it. But all in all the house is still there." Thompson Fire Chief Gary Adams said.

The name of the family is not being released yet.
