City officials have already closed the Sorlie and Point bridges in Grand Forks and East Grand Forks. The Louis Murray Bridge, which connects the North End and Point areas, is expected to close sometime this week as the Red continues to ride.

The National Weather Service had previously projected a rise to 50.1 ft. by the middle of the week. Now, they project a rise to 52 ft. At 52.6 ft. water will be nearing the approach of the Kennedy Bridge on Gateway Drive.

Should the Louis Murray Bridge close, EGF residents will have to used the Mallory Bridge off of U.S. Highway 2 at County Road 58 and Highway 220 South.

The new Thompson Bridge is expected to remain open, so commuters could use that as a route.

As in previous flooding years, traffic is likely to be congested, so motorists should plan accordingly.
