Volunteers are requested Wednesday for sandbagging in the Grand Forks area.

Buses will be leaving from the southwest entrance of the Alerus Center at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., and 5 p.m.

The Alerus is at 1200 S. 42nd St.

Volunteers should be dressed appropriately, with gloves, work boots and layers of clothing. Volunteers should also be in good health and be able to lift the weight of sandbags.

Cars can be park at the Alerus Center parking lot.

The City of Grand Forks says volunteers shouldn't drive to specific sandbagging points.

Volunteers will need to register at either the Alerus Center or the Grand Forks website before heading out. You can find an article with those links attached to this one.
