CASSELTON, N.D. (AP) — With about 30 miles of Interstate 29 north of Fargo closed because of flooding, some smaller towns in the area are seeing heavy traffic.
The Forum newspaper reports that the Cass County Sheriff's Office is sending extra deputies to Casselton to patrol and ensure the safety of children going to and from school.
In Hunter, resident Penny Johnson tells WDAY-TV that the traffic is "crazy." Local café owner Deb Tarvestad says when she came to work at 4:45 a.m. one day this week in the town that has no stop signs or lights, she had to use a blinker.
