Man Sentenced to 20 Years for GF Crash That Killed 2
An East Grand Forks man facing homicide charges after a crash that killed two young people was sentenced Tuesday.
An East Grand Forks man facing homicide charges after a crash that killed two young people was sentenced Tuesday.
25-year-old Celso Garza was sentenced to 20 years in prison and 10 years probation.
Garza plead guilty to driving under the influence, two counts of homicide while fleeing an officer and two counts of assault while fleeing an officer.
Tasha Brenno, 19, and James Freestone, 21, were killed in the crash.
On June 5, 2010 police say Garza was speeding to escape officers who were trying to stop him for running a red light.
He hit the vehicle at the intersection of 17th Avenue and Columbia.
