It’s a sad day for loved ones of a UND student brutally killed by a convicted sex offender. It's been six years since Dru Sjodin disappeared from a Grand Forks mall.

Thousands of people searched for the 22 year-old. Nearly five months later, her body was found near Crookston. She had been stabbed, tortured and raped.

Her killer, Alfonso Rodriguez Junior, is appealing his death row conviction.

Stricter sex offender laws are now in place because of her murder.
