American Crystal Sugar Plant Fire Extinguished

The American Crystal Sugar plant in East Grand Forks was damaged in a fire Thursday.

The American Crystal Sugar plant in East Grand Forks was damaged in a fire Thursday.

The fire at the plant at 18 4th St. NW was reported about 12:30 this afternoon. No one was injured.

An American Crystal spokesperson says an employee spotted the fire near the boiler house, with flames visible from the roof and walls.

Damage totals aren't yet known.
