CAVALIER, N.D. (AP) — Trial for a Pembina man charged with killing a Walhalla man has been pushed back from this spring to the fall.
Miguel Medina-Romero's trial on murder and drug charges was to begin May 10. Court officials say it has been rescheduled to the first week of August.
The 25-year-old Medina-Romero is charged in the October shooting death of 19-year-old B.J. Kallis outside Medina-Romero's home in Pembina. Prosecutors have said they expect Medina-Romero to argue he was acting in self-defense.
He remains jailed on $1 million bond.
