WAHPETON, N.D. (AP) — A Wisconsin man who had to be rescued on a flooded road in southeast North Dakota now faces a reckless endangerment charge.
KFGO radio reports that 22-year-old Joseph Reinke on Tuesday asked for a court-appointed attorney. His request was granted.
The Daily News in Wahpeton reports that the Janesville, Wis., resident is a student at the North Dakota State College of Science. He and two passengers had to be rescued on April 5 after their pickup truck was swept away by floodwaters in Richland County and partially submerged. KVLY-TV reports that about two dozen officials and two boats were involved in the rescue.
Reinke also was cited for care required and driving without liability insurance.
