The property tax bills go in the mail Wednesday for those living in Grand Forks County.
And they won't be as high as they have been in recent years as people will be seeing a significant drop in the bills this year.
The decrease is largely because of the North Dakota Legislature giving more funding to schools.
As part of the additional money for school districts statewide, they will lower their property tax portions.
Residential properties will see the largest decreases but commercial properties will decrease as well.
For example in Grand Forks on a $150,000 home, people will save about $450 to $500 dollars in taxes.
But homeowners will no longer be able to use a credit used on past state tax returns, which let them qualify for a 10 percent property tax refund.
