Car Seat Recycling Event Held This Saturday

A car seat recycling event will be held this Saturday.

The event, held at the Altru Clinic parking lot at 1000 S. Columbia Road from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. will be used to collect seats and ensure people don't place them on berms during the city-wide garbage collection week May 2 to 6.

The following are all car seats that should not be used and would be good ones to bring to the recycling event:

• Seats that have been recalled

• Seats that have been in a crash

• Expired seats (older than 6 years)

• Have unknown crash history (purchased second hand from thrift stores, at rummage

sales, etc.)

• Have broken or missing parts

Unwanted seats will also be accepted. For every car set dropped off, your name will be entered into a drawing for prizes.

Technicians will also be on hand to check car seats currently in use or answer any other questions.
