WAHPETON, N.D. (AP) — A Wahpeton man was sentenced to two years in prison for deliberately driving his vehicle into the vehicle of his former girlfriend.

KFGO radio reported that 71-year-old Charles Mikkelson was sentenced Wednesday to five years in prison, with three years suspended, for his guilty plea to attempted murder.

The prosecutor said Mikkelson rammed the woman's vehicle after they had an argument last September.

Sixty-two-year-old Kathleen Lureen was seriously hurt in the head-on collision south of Wahpeton.
