BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota lawmakers are expecting to wrap up their session Thursday. They're working on the final bills of the 2011 Legislature.
Both the House and Senate adjourned Wednesday night after legislative leaders decided against pushing for a late finish. Both chambers will resume work at 8 a.m. Thursday.
Lawmakers still have to finish work on five bills, including the budget for North Dakota's university system and the spending bill for the Game and Fish Department.
The final details of the state Office of Management and Budget's spending bill also haven't been finished. The bill is often used for last-minute amendments.
Thursday will be the 78th day of the 2011 session. The North Dakota Constitution limits the Legislature to 80 days of meetings every two years.
