BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - The 2011 North Dakota Legislature is over after both chambers adjourned before 6 o'clock yesterday.
Lawmakers applauded as the final gavels fell.
The session will be most remembered for road construction, water projects and tax cuts.
The passed budget includes $371 million for state and local road repairs. Officials say that's a record amount of state support for road construction.
The Legislature approved income tax cuts for individuals and corporations, and more than $340 million worth of local school property tax cuts.
They supported a new water pipeline system in northwestern North Dakota that will supply rural towns and provide water needed for oil drilling.
