HASTINGS, Minn. (AP) — A jury has convicted a former Burnsville scoutmaster of repeatedly sexually assaulting one of the Boy Scouts who was in his troop.

Forty-six-year-old Peter Stibal (STY'-buhl) II was found guilty of two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a minor under his authority and two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.

The jury deliberated for five hours before reaching its verdict Tuesday. The Star Tribune (http://bit.ly/kXvSna) reports Judge Edward Lynch ordered Stibal taken to jail immediately after the verdict.

The victim is now 21 years old. The sexual assaults happened when he was 13 to 15 years old.

Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom says Stibal will face more four trials for alleged sexual assaults of three other scouts and for possession of child pornography.
