A new facility is helping people with developmental disabilities in East Grand Forks.

The Polk County Developmental Achievement Center had the multi-sensory environment room put in.

It also is meant to help people with anxiety issues.

The room is filled with colorful lights... music and textured objects for people to touch.

It cost 40-thousand dollars which was paid for through a grant.

"We've definitely seen a lot of improvement just in having people come here here for just a half hour, two or three times a week." DAC Program Coordinator Ardys Burley.

There will be an open house for the room on Wednesday, May 18th at 3-5 p.m.
