At least one person was injured in a two-vehicle accident reported before 11 p.m. Tuesday south of Bemidji.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol out of Thief River Falls:

A 1998 Dodge Ram pickup truck was westbound on Beltrami County Road 404 (Carr Lake Road Southeast) while a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am was southbound on state Highway 197 (Washington Avenue South).

The Dodge Ram, driven by 21-year-old Kyle T. Mason of Bemidji, failed to yield at a stop sign and struck the Grand Am, driven by 22-year-old Jessie E. Hanson of Bemidji, in the left rear of the vehicle.

Neither driver was apparently injured.

Haley J. Higginbotham, 20, of Bemidji, was a passenger in the Grand Am and she suffered minor injuries. She was taken to Sanford Bemidji Medical Center, where she was treated and released.

A passenger in the Dodge Ram was Jessica M. Vogel, 20, of Bemidji. Whether she was injured was not clear. The State Patrol listed her condition as “not documented” and there was no record of her at SBMC.

All four were wearing their seat belts.

The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
