FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The lawyer for MSNBC political talk show host Ed Schultz says a lawsuit that claims Schultz owes a business partner a share of the profits from "The Ed Show" is baseless.

Attorney Jeff Landa tells The Forum newspaper that he and Schultz have no plans to settle with Michael Queen.

Queen alleges in the federal court lawsuit in the District of Columbia that he's owed $100,000 for the 25 percent stake of the profits Schultz promised him and for other expenses racked up while pitching Schultz as a TV pundit in 2008-09.

Landa says there was no contract. Queen says promises in e-mails amounted to an enforceable agreement.

Schultz spent three decades in the Fargo area as a sports broadcaster and talk show host before landing the MSNBC show.
