A Rolla, ND, man made a court appearance this week on charges of sexually assaulting a 5-year-old child who was in his care.
Aaron LaVallie had his bond set at $10,000 and is in the Rollete County jail in Rolla.
LaVallie, who is 34 or 35, is charged in state district court in Rolla with one count of Class B felony gross sexual imposition and one count of child abuse. A Class B felony carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
He is charged with having sexual contact with the child. The abuse charge, a Class C felony, involves allegations that LaVallie used illegal drugs while he was the child’s caregiver, according to court documents.
