Fort Yates, ND, Man Pleads Guilty to Resisting, Assaulting Officer

Authorities say Little Bear kicked a Bureau of Indian Affairs officer in the chest and shoulder area when officers responded to a 911 call at his residence. Little Bear was wearing athletic cleats when he allegedly kicked the officer.

A Fort Yates, ND, man has plead guilty to assaulting and resisting a federal officer.

Kevin Little Bear, 54, could face a maximum of eight years in jail and a $250,000 fine if convicted.

Authorities say Little Bear kicked a Bureau of Indian Affairs officer in the chest and shoulder area when officers responded to a 911 call at his residence. Little Bear was wearing athletic cleats when he allegedly kicked the officer.

The incident occurred as Little Bear was being arrested for suspicion of domestic violence.

Little Bear will be sentenced August 16 in Bismarck.
