ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A 17-year-old boy was arrested after reportedly bringing a gun to St. Paul's Central Senior High School.

Police spokesman Officer John Keating says police don't believe the teen threatened anyone with the gun.

A school resource officer was called to a room late Wednesday morning. Keating says the student apparently had something in his pocket that he didn't want to give to a staff member. As the officer walked in, the student removed the gun from his pocket and immediately handed it to the officer.

Police arrested the student. The Ramsey County Attorney's office is reviewing the case.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports (http://bit.ly/k6NkoG ) the St. Paul school district does not have metal detectors in any schools.
