Patrick Amundson, 17, was driving his 1989 Jeep west on Traill County highway 5 when the North Dakota Highway Patrol says he failed to stop at a stop sign. That intersection is about five miles south of Clifford and 6 miles north of Galesburg, ND.
Amundson collided with a 1995 GMC Sierra driven by Raymond Sorgert, 57, of Fargo. Sorgert was driving south. Both vehicles ended up in the southwest corner of the intersection.

The Highway Patrol says Amundson's vehicle had extensive front driver-side damage.
According to an accident report, neither of the men were wearing seat belts.
Traill County Sheriff, Hunter Ambulance, and Traill County Ambulance assisted.
A Sanford Health representative says Sorgert was treated and released from that hospital. Amundson's family has requested no information be released regarding his condition.
