MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Delta Air Lines Inc. says it had to cancel more than 250 flights due to a 9 ½-hour power outage that snarled operations at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

Delta spokeswoman Betsy Talton says the airline is working to get passengers on their way as quickly as possible or put them up in hotels.

An airport statement said Delta predicted approximately 500 passengers might remain in the terminal overnight due to flight cancellations. But Talton says the number she was given was closer to 100. She wasn't sure of the reason for the discrepancy.

Airport spokeswoman Melissa Scovronski says power was restored to three of the four affected concourses around 6:30 p.m. Saturday The outage occurred around 8 a.m., leaving jetways inoperable at 63 gates used by Delta and its partners.
