Grand Forks Standoff Ends Peacefully After Report of Man With Gun Making Threats
Authorities in Grand Forks say a man who was reported to be armed and threatening was arrested without incident after a SWAT team surrounded the apartment he was in.By: Associated Press,
We now know the name of the man involved in a stand-off last night in Grand Forks.
30-year-old John Franklin was reported to be agitated and armed with a handgun.
Franklin had an active felony probation violation warrant out in the State of Minnesota.
The swat team and negotiaters arrived on scene shortly after 7:30 to the apartment building at 1850 south 34th street.
Police set up a perimeter around the building and Franklin turned himself in without incident.
A handgun was recovered.
Franklin was arrested for the warrant.
Other charges are pending.
