The Grand Forks Public Library had some surprise visitors Monday afternoon.

Thompson Summer Theatre students held a "flash mob" promoting their upcoming show Grease.

A flash mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual act for a brief time, then quickly disperse.

"You weren't sure exactly how things were going to be set up and how people would react," Maggie Nistler, who plays the role of Sandy in the play, said.

The group will be performing the musical on June 9 and 10 at the Empire Arts Center in Grand Forks.
