Interstate 29 near Drayton was snow-covered and icy when a semi driver lost control of his tractor-trailer this morning.
The Highway Patrol says the fuel tank of the semi was punctured and lost around 300 gallons of diesel fuel into the median.
The Patrol says the driver, Alagaiah Jegatheeswaran of Scarborough Ontario, was driving south on I-29 from Winnipeg to Fargo. He lost control of the semi, jack-knifed, and entered the median.
The North Dakota Department of Health and the North Dakota Department of Transportation helped clean up the spill.
The accident happend around 9:20 this morning on Interstate 29 south of Drayton.
The driver of the semi was not hurt.
