Grand Forks Man Pleads Not Guilty in K-Mart Parking Lot Stabbing

A Grand Forks man has pleaded not guilty to aggravated assault in connection with the stabbing of another man at the Grand Forks K-Mart parking lot in May.

A Grand Forks man has pleaded not guilty to aggravated assault in connection with the stabbing of another man at the Grand Forks K-Mart parking lot in May.

Authorities allege 27-year-old Richard Berg stabbed Joshua Tody, 27, of East Grand Forks in the neck and chest. Tody was treated at the scene by Altru paramedics and transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Berg was arrested shortly after the incident. Investigation led officers to the 2200 block of 12th Ave. N. where he was arrested without incident.

Berg has asked for a speedy trial, and a pre-trial conference has been set for June 30.

The incident occurred at about 5:53 p.m. May 5 at 1900 S. Washington St.
