DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (AP) — The state engineer says the west end Devils Lake outlet is running at full capacity.
Todd Sando says officials increased the flow Wednesday from 150 cubic feet per second to 250 cubic feet per second. Sando told KZZY radio that he's confident the outlet will be able to run consistently at the higher level.
The state opened the outlet in late May, sending floodwater into the Sheyenne River. The state plans to build an east-end outlet to drain even more water from the lake.
