Investigation into Suspicious Devils Lake House Fire Continues

Fire Chief Jim Moe says the department responded shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday to a house at 824 2nd St. after a report of smoke coming from the house.

An investigation is continuing Friday into a suspicious house fire in Devils Lake.

Fire Chief Jim Moe says the department responded shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday to a house at 824 2nd St. after a report of smoke coming from the house.

"There appeared to be fires burning at three different locations in the house," Moe said.

The home was unoccupied at the time and the fire had appeared to have burned itself out by the time officials arrived on the scene.

"It's kind of a mess," Moe said. "We'll be investigating today. That's about all we can say right now."
