Dickinson Man Admits to Hitting Wife With Truck

He is accused of running her over on Dec. 11 during an argument, according to court records. He allegedly said something along the lines of “I’m going to show you what it’s like to lie there and to die alone.”

Dickinson resident Tyler Pelton told a Stark County judge Monday afternoon that he ran over his wife.

With the admission during the hearing at the Stark County Courthouse, the 29-year-old pled guilty to aggravated assault.

He is accused of running her over on Dec. 11 during an argument, according to court records. He allegedly said something along the lines of “I’m going to show you what it’s like to lie there and to die alone.”

She then looked up and saw a vehicle coming at her, which she identified as Pelton’s truck. It struck her side and she fell to the ground, according to a previous Press article.

He put her facedown in the back of his pickup and took her home, according to a previous Press article.

She allegedly begged him to take her to the hospital, which he later did, according to a previous article.

Pelton allegedly apologized for his actions and made his wife promise not to tell anybody.

She had about 8 inches of her colon and 50 percent of her diaphragm removed, according to a previous Press article.
