MINOT, N.D. (AP) — Minot is facing record Souris River flooding, but the State Fair will still go on late next month.
Fair Manager Renae Korslien (KOHRZ'-leen) and State Fair Foundation Board President Gary Knell say officials are diking, moving many items to higher ground and temporarily moving offices to the Minot Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The fair is July 22-30. Korslien says once high water recedes, all officials will have to do is "move dirt and clean up and we are ready to go."
More immediate events such as auctions, wedding receptions and Ward County 4-H Achievement Days scheduled at the fairgrounds are being canceled.
