BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Members of North Dakota's congressional delegation say Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano has agreed to review whether people and businesses in more North Dakota counties should be eligible for federal flood-recovery aid.

Federal Emergency Management Agency assistance for individual flood victims has been approved only for Burleigh and Ward counties. The congressional delegation and governor pushed for an expansion.

A FEMA deputy administrator is coming to the state this week to re-evaluate Morton, Renville and McHenry counties. Individual aid might also be a possibility for the flooded Devils Lake region.

FEMA provides money to repair public infrastructure in areas declared federal disasters, but aid for individual victims is approved only if damage is severe. Individual aid can help with flooding costs that aren't covered by insurance.
