Boardings at North Dakota's eight commercial and regional airports in October increased 5.1 percent over the year.
State Aeronautics Commission director Larry Taborsky says boardings in the state were up 2,988, bucking a slight decline nationally. He cites several reasons for the jump in North Dakota, including the oil industry and hunting seasons.
Jamestown saw the biggest percentage increase in boardings in October, of 58.1 percent. Fargo had the biggest increase in actual passengers, with 2,983 more boardings.
The Bismarck, Devils Lake and Dickinson airports also had increases, while Grand Forks, Minot and Williston had fewer boardings.
