St. Paul Man Drowns in Polk County, WI, Lake

A 22-year-old St. Paul man has died after a boating accident in Polk County. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of the family.

MILLTOWN TOWNSHIP, WI (AP) — A 22-year-old St. Paul man has died after a boating accident in Polk County.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports (http://bit.ly/jmkvt1 ) the name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of the family.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office says deputies received a 911 call of a possible drowning on Antler Lake in Milltown Township at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

When deputies arrived, CPR was in progress and the victim then was taken by ambulance to St. Croix Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators say the victim and four of his friends were boating on a 12-foot aluminum boat, which capsized. Another member of the group located the victim under water and brought him to the shore.

The accident remains under investigation.
